Knocknagor Primary School, Trillick, Omagh

Welcome to the P4/5 news page. There are 14 energetic and enthusiastic children in our class under the direction of teacher Mrs Briege Baxter and classroom assistant Miss Mary Kate McQuaid.

We welcome them all back after their long spell in lock down. It’s great to see them all so happy and raring to go.

For the first few weeks we will be concentrating mostly on literacy and numeracy and revisiting work from the summer term. We will also be working on mindfulness and addressing worries/anxieties regarding returning to school. We will also be hoping to start our WAU topic Mighty Me.

Homework will be operating a little bit differently this term. All homework for the week will go home on a Monday in a plastic folder. This work is to be completed and returned to school on the Friday in the same folder. Homework will include spelling, mental maths, literacy and numeracy. For the time being all reading will be done in school, therefore no core reading book will be going home. The children will however have their accelerated reading book which they can take home. Mathletics passwords and my school login details will be sent home in homework diaries. Children are strongly encouraged to make use of  mathletics.

We look forward to the new term and adapting to the new norm!
